Microsoft Edge is Microsoft’s recommended web browser and is in fact the default web browser for Windows. Because Windows supports applications that know they can rely on the web platform, our default web browser is an integral part of how our system works and is difficult to remove.
Edge is used by some core parts of the OS (for widgets), so you can’t remove some of them. If you don’t use it, just remove the magic formula from your desktop and forget it’s installed. It does not work alone in the environment and consumes an incredible amount of resources.
Select > Launch Options > Applications > Default Applications.
To do this, follow these steps: Open Microsoft Edge.
Choose settings and more.
Select “Settings”.
In the “Settings” sidebar, select “Privacy and Services”.
In the “Clear browsing data” section, select “Choose what is cleared every time the browser is closed.”
In the “Clear attached browser data on close” section, select the option next to the cache to clear it when the browser window closes.
