As Neowin reports, Microsoft is making an interesting decision to automatically update users to builds 1903 to 1909 instead of the latest build associated with Windows 10 October 2020 Update (20H2) or even its predecessor, Windows 10 2004.
Starting today, the October 2020 Update is initially available to select users of devices running Windows 10 1903 or later who want the latest feature updates and want to install this version on their device.
Activation packs differ from previous versions only in that they are essentially the same codebase. The Enablement Package will only have a new 1903 1909 sewing machine, EPFor 20H2 will only update the 2004 class.
To install the new version, open someone’s Windows Update settings (Settings > Update & Security > Windows & Update) and select Check for Updates. When the actual update comes out and you support Windows 10, version 1903, or Ultimate, you can simply select Download to install to get started.
