Restart PC. The simplest solution of them all.
Insert valid product key. Based on various reports, this error can occur even if you don’t have the activated version of Windows 10.
Scan for malware. Malware is another thing which can provoke this and similar errors.
Exclude the game from AV scans.
Repair the game.
Reinstall Windows 10.

GRUB will be overwritten in the Miscellaneous step and the Windows bootloader will take control of booting your operating system. I found on the internet that you can also use the third party EasyBCD software to do this. However, easybcd doesn’t support Windows 7 yet. The BootFix you make for it will probably be from Windows, but Vista software will work just fine.
